Vineyard Painting Workshop

Due to popular demand we've added another date!

Details

A fabulous chance to work with Mark Warner, a brilliant landscape artist, in our Crondall vineyard. This will be an inspiring day and we hope will be the first of a number of similar ‘artist in residence’ opportunities. The day is suitable for all levels, from beginner to experienced artists!

About Mark

Mark is an experienced practicing artist and tutor working from his studio in north Shropshire, United Kingdom.Sketching is at the heart of his work. It is integral to the development of a piece, sometimes forming part of the painting itself. He continues to draw inspiration from the landscape and adores using colour while interpreting the light, contrast, weather and a love of the materials. He runs painting workshops as well as tutoring painting holidays in the UK and France.Demonstrations and workshops to Art clubs & societies throughout the UK are very popular.Mark has developed his passion for both Landscapes and Seascapes while growing up on the West Wales coast. Moving to the rolling hills of Shropshire has enabled him to experiment with colour, light and line further. He works in Acrylics & Oils, on paper board and canvas.Mark has numerous works and galleries in the UK as well as private collections in Europe and USA.

"Made at contract winery Itasca by Ben Smith, who was responsible for making my highest scoring English wine of all time (2018 Oxney Chardonnay), I have no problem declaring that this is the UK’s finest Pinot Blanc to date.

The fruit comes from the Missing Gate Vineyard in Essex, where it was hand-picked and whole bunch pressed into third fill Burgundy barrels. I was lucky enough to taste a bottle late last year, and it is as lively and energetic as any white wine you will taste.

A low sulphur regime and minimal fining have left the beautiful fruit to romance your senses. This is a truly brilliant wine with sensational depth, complexity and length. It is not slippery and smooth like an Alsatian PB, but grainy, combative and textural like an epic Chablis. It is nothing short of stunning, and it is certainly the epitome of brave winemaking."
