Bacchus 2020

Can you bottle the shimmering, lazy delight of a late summer’s day spent in an English garden? Our 2020 Bacchus answers that with an emphatic yes.

Tasting notes
The nose is expressive yet restrained, with ripe pear skin, white peach and a hint of hawthorn blossom. On the palate, juicy stone fruits and a mineral backbone lead into a long, focused and dry finish.

The method
Our winemaking embraces purity, texture and balance. A detailed, small batch, low intervention approach allows the fruit to shine through. The 2020 Bacchus was hand picked at its peak in late September, ripened by the warm tail end of summer.

"A rather elegant Bacchus. Not catty and stridently waspish, as Bacchus so often is. This has rather pretty peachy fruit, spring-like hedgerow florals, a cuspate line of green gooseberry and a mouth-wateringly taut, dry finish. There is a tiny tingle of spritz that buzzes the tongue and draws an electric current of liveliness. Up there with the best English Bacchus labels on the market today. Well done, Ben! I'm looking forward to tasting a Bacchus made with their own sustainably grown grapes."
